quirestiClass and getting ready for the parents and blah blah blah.
Archaeology quickly moved on into cultural evolution, which had some new stuff. Yay!
Lunch with Qai and Rosona went well. It was fun. There was food. We talked about paradoxes and T-shirts and stuff. Qai ate chocolate and raspberry pancakes with gaunoche (I realize my spelling sucks.) and whipped cream. I'm amaze we all survived the sugar. Beware the sugar!! It was all good-except for the leaving of the keys inside the locked room thing. That was bad.
I got my birthday card from Ko-Lady. Wheee. It is so cute!!! But no packages. Which means the earliest I can get them is Monday, since I will not be here to pick anything up tomorrow. Really, they do this just to torment me. I wanna know!
And now, I sit in an Undergraduate Anthropological Society meeting. Wheeee. There are 8 women here and no guys. So far. Weeirrd.
Alright, so now there are 10 women and 1 guy.
The guy and one girl are on exchange this semester from Australia.
Departmental Honors for anthropology seems even easier than I previously thought. They don't want a thesis paper-instead, they want you to pick a journal and write a paper according to their guidelines,
Then, we watched a movie about cricket in the Trobiand Islands. The missionaries introduced it at about the same time that the government outlawed the ritual warfare. The Trobiands totally made their own game out of it. For one thing, games have 40-60 players per team. They also incleded ritual dances, magic,chants (which can be anything from chants similar to cheerleading sort of stuff, to chants about recent events), etc.
In the end, I got good cookies, nice T-shirts, a cool movie, good information, and field trip out of this. What more could one ask for?
Right now though, I have a killer headache, so I am going to go lie down until my parents get here.
