Sep. 21st, 2003 06:08 pmQai-you pretty much know all of this already. The benefit of actually talking to people! *evil glare at Ko*
So, some guy called me at 4 am this morning. Apparently he was getting calls from someone in the middle of the night and he was revenge-calling them. And he asked somebody to trace the calls and they gave him my number.
I am not happy to be called at 4 am, especially for no reason.
But then I went on a hike and my day became much better. It was really a pretty awesome hike. Not very long, but pretty rigorous, lots of steep climbs on loose sand/rocks. But it was absolutely gorgeous. Incredibly dry, not a lot of plants (comparatively) but oh my god the geology. Incredible colors and formations. There were these weird little seepage things (Ojitos Canyon and I wasn't expecting this. How braindead can I be? Considering I forgot food--very). They smelled sulfurous and what was really cool is they actually covered the grass with calcium carbonate. Very neat looking. Where we stopped for lunch there was a large (read: very very large) sinkhole/cave thing. Straight drop-down and no other way in. I found myself very amused when Kyle (one of the guide people) and another girl spent a large part of lunch figuring out how one would climb in and out--where you would start if you had a rope, if you didn't, etc. There was also a dead crow and a very large nest within the hole/cave/thing. It was a lot of fun. And I am vaguely disturbed by how much fun I find in climbing incredibly steep tall hills made entirely out of very fine sand with a few large rocks pushed in.
A fun day all around. And now I have Kenshin to read.
